New Club to open soon...! In honour of 85 years of Toastmastsers International, Northern Ireland will be opening up its fifth Toastmasters Club. Belfast Toastmasters Club will have its first Demonstration meeting early in 2010 and will need the support of all Hillsborough Speakers Club members. President David Logan will keep you informed when the time comes and help is needed. Happy Birthday Toastmasters International!
Here in Hillsborough Speakers Club, we 'learn by doing'. Whether you are a professional, student, stay-at-home parent or retiree, Toastmasters is the most efficient, enjoyable and affordable way of gaining great communication skills. By learning to effectively formulate and express your ideas, you open an entirely new world of possibilities. You’ll be more persuasive and confident when giving presentations, and you’ll improve your one-on-one dealings with others.
How does it work?
Everyone in a Toastmasters club was once at the level you are now. The environment is
friendly, supportive, and the
self-paced program allows you to build confidence with each speaking assignment. Constructive evaluation is the heart of the Toastmasters program, with Evaluatiors for each Stage Speech. At first you’ll be applauded for your effort; later you’ll be applauded for your skill.
So what do you do next?
Just come and visit! We meet twice a month (every second and fourth Wednesday) at 7.30pm in the Village Centre, Hillsborough .
